Insurance for the 2008 Altima and the 2009 Rogue is just over $800 per year. $1000 deductible coll on the Rogue, no coll on the Altima, but towing and comprehensive on both.

Two motorcycles and an antique car cost a total of $250 per year. 8 months premium on the second bike was $46.

Not sure on the gas but it should still be below $200 per month for about 30k per year total miles.

regards
Mech

Never heard of daily rate insurance.

I keep at least one policy active at all times because "starting over" as a customer in the insurance world is A REAL BIATCH. I know first-hand.

Neither have I. Nearly all states in the U.S. have mandatory liability laws and they have gotten very strict about maintaining and documenting proof of coverage. Also, in my state, every time you make a policy change or registration change there are hefty fees and surcharges that are allowed or imposed by the state. Plus there is the inevitable hour-long wait at the DMV.

Fuel easily. My insurance costs ~ £450 per year including my business use and unlimited mileage.

Each tank costs me £65-£75+ for roughly 60-65 litres.

Servicing is also a factor - I wish I had time to spanner myself - roughly £3-400 twice a year.

...this question has stirred a question: "...wonder which is more expensive these days, a car or a horse?

...gotta "feed" a horse daily, but only fillup a car periodically, but BOTH have to be "doctored" periodically.

...wonder who charges more per hour, the VET or the AUTOTECH?

Very well said ! with only one minor adjustment: horses, unless we're talking about something like this
