My BP gas station gives much better fuel, I get better performance out of it than the other gas stations.
I always fill up my 50/63cc scoot with BP premium. It's much better than shell, and especially the crapanol that chevron and citgo provide!
Talking about scooter.... my 850cc does not show a mileage difference, nor does the 5.9l or the 1.5l as mileage, but in term of engine noise it is remarquable that the idle is consistently more stable w chevron than the other brands.
E10 is terrible as it has separated the phases and gelled in the carb, so I have to add a stabilizer.

The reason I put up the poll is becuase there are different perceptions out there (as can obviously be seen from this thread). Some people will swear up and down that there's a significant difference, others with swear up and down that there isn't. My goal actually wasn't so much to debate the issue as much as it was to get a feel for roughly what percentage of people fall into the different camps.

For me, it depends on the vehicle. I have some that it makes no difference and others where the choice of gas makes a 10% difference in fuel economy. The ones that get better gas mileage tend to have more power as well.

Actually, in a car it's hard to feel the difference, but with a 50cc scoot where every bit of energy helps, I do notice a lot of difference!

With Chevron I notice my car not accelerating as well, almost as if 20% is pure water mixed with gasoline; and that I have to get new gas 3 days after I just filled up my car.
With BP I can last a week.

I'd say the difference, and the real question is, whether there is a difference between bargain chain gas and top-tier branded gas.

Amongst themselves I think it would be easy to call it even.

Ive tried all flavors of gas at a few local stations, by flavors I mean low, mid and high octane. BP Regular gives the most light throttle response for the newer insight and keeps vtec at bay til the going gets tough. All the other rotten crap I poured down the tank made you ride vtec and vtec kick in early.

My sidekick, he doesnt care. I use him to burn off our old gas, both for the 2 and 4 stroke stuff. Once I poured in a gallon of kerosene from a heater we were storing. No change at all in performance.

I get between 2 and 2,5MPG better results with BP Premium fuel over BP regular.
BP Premium: ~ 36.1 - 36.7 MPG
BP Regular : ~ 33.6 - 34.6 MPG
Shell/Chevron/Mobil Premium : ~ 34.2 - 34.8 MPG
Regular : 32.8 - 33.7 MPG

What's needed is for someone's wifey/friend to set up a double blind test.
Of course the tanks would need to be run as close to bone dry in between fillings too.

otherwise the instrumentation in our head interferes

Most cars nowadays have an MPG counter on their dashboard that's pretty accurate!
