I just blew the doors off 30 mpg, even beat 35 mpg. From Lolo to Grangeville,165.5 mi.took on 4.4 gallons, working out to 37mpg, mild p&g , and a tiny amount of Eoc. Overall very happy with the preformance.
Lolo pass

Grangeville pass.

When we drove through the valley we passed through some thin fog, I was able to watch the back window as we drove through it and could see the wake the car was leaving. The fog swirled in towards the center of the car off the back window. There is some room for improvement in the rear. Detached vortices.

Nice job!!!! Very impressive - and a good clean job on that frontend.

I wish I had fog I could drive through at enough speed (more than 3mph) to watch my wake.

Nice...those are the numbers that your car should be showing. Nice work on the front air dam.

thanks guys. I am not 100 % satisfied with the airdam yet. I think I will blend the edges where they meet with some silicon and stiffen the bottom edge with some aluminum angle. I am also planning on adding a splitter to the leading edge and continuing it back as a belly pan, 40 mpg here I come.
The weather conditions were perfect for the fog, 50°f sunny and it had just finished raining. The road is fantastic to, with a 1500' climb from Lolo to the top of Lolo passabout 45mi. The initial decent is a 6% grade with some nice sharp corners, then it flattens out into a curvy river valley for 85 miles or so. Turn onto highway 13. Then you pass through 3 little towns about 10 mi apart before climbing back out of the valley ending in Grangeville.

Ok guys the differance between 10% ethonol, and ethonol free is roughly 3 mpg.
The only gas I could find in Boise was 10% stuff and I got pretty consistant 34 mpg. When I get a job again I will run a test from Lolo to Koosika and back for pure non ethonol gas milage

Ethanol free gas gets our other car (with instant MPG) 3 to 5 mpg better than E10.

I'm thinking you should recondition those rims now...maybe some 80's brass look to them?

Loving the pics!

Before I left Boise I bumped the tire pressures to 39.5 psi. on the door is recomended 27 psi,
I am planning on reconditioning the rims, I am thinking about white with black trim or charcoal with white trim or leave them silver with charcoal trim.
What do you guys think? Any all input welcome.

Your car looks the business with these wheels and fenders! Really cool car, the stance/pose of the car is awesome. Keep on modding and post some pics of the interior please. I'm curiousabout the way IT looks inside now that you have stripped it.
