Is duct tape A.O.K. for experimenting?

I blocked the front, and used some duct tape between the cab and cap to see if it helps before I permalize it. Is there anything bad about that for a couple days? Anyone have a bad experience with duct tape?

Other than the adhesive will be a mess to remove? Not a problem!

My first grille block and wheel skirts were cardboard & duct tape. Both went through an entire winter.

Yea, Duct tape works great until you take it off and you have white adhesive stuck to everything. Yay for un-painted bumpers by Jeep!

Is there something that works equally as well and is cheap? I'd like to start experimenting and want to avoid the adhesive.

That crystal clear tape works well for me. although I have never taken it off so I don't know about the adhesive.

I think though that crystal clear tape wouldn't leave anything behind. tears less often than duct tape too, although the adhesive is not as water resistant.

That blue tape they sell for painting works pretty well. You may have to shop around for the wide stuff. It will come off of everything, but don't use it if it's raining.

I'd choose blue painters tape, but it has low adhesiveness.

Pretty much any tape will leave residue if it is left on long enough and exposed to the environment. Has anyone had actual paint damage from using duct tape, though? That is my biggest concern...especially on my aging, UV-damaged paint...

Spend the extra dollar and get the good quality stuff. I used the cheap stuff only to find that at the end of a trip I had been dragging a large piece of Coroplast and tape for the last hundred miles or so.

I'll bet mineral spirits on a rag will be pretty forgiving on the paint
