...and it's all over by 31:00.
Thanks. It's book-ended by mentions of the Edison2. Mostly it's about the social implications of autonomous cars. It's interesting and thought-provoking.
At one point he mentions that 'surge pricing' will affect your commute to work which will lead to move flexible working hours, which will mean fewer new lanes on the freeway needed and&.
Personally, I think he should sell the in-hub suspension fitted to the 1937 Ford front axle (one-year only tube axle) through Summit Racing. Or Local Motors.
Also: he points to three inflection points in the evolution of the automobile; the Model T Ford, the 1939 VW Beetle and the 1959 Morris Mini.

I guess I will believe it when I can walk down the street cash in hand, by a 2 wheel steer version at a reasonable price.
Hope it's true but not holding my breath

I'd settle for just the front axle. To put in my 1958 VW Beetle.

I personally suspect, based on comments made a few years ago by Oliver Kuttner about regulatory hurdles, as well as the comments about the ability to set up a local Edison2 factory easily, that it's not gonna show up in the US.
My predictions are India or China first.

Oh man, back out of left field, Edison2 is going to make something?
Do. Want.

The car in this video is not the best looking version of the car since it was just hacked up to convert to electric for the test that day, from one of the Xprize cars.
I got to spend a few hours with Oliver and chat about the VLC production car and got to take a drive in the car around Emeryville, CA. What a great car!
Pretty funny comment about his interactions with VW.

When I met Oliver he was carrying a case about the size of a bowling ball bag, and inside was a front suspension (the whole thing) for a car about the size and weight of a VW Jetta. He said he had been in talks with VW. I think if VW had moved forward with some of the suspension and aero modifications with Edison2, the company would not have "suspended operations". For that matter, if any of the many companies he contacted had decided to move forward in the direction of efficiency it would have kept E2 alive.
I really hope they do move ahead. I'm a fan!
