Thanks again for all your input. I think I will put the crank case electric/vac system on the back burner for now and concentrate on the other mods.
I have more then enough to keep me busy.

OK, I got it running again and shes doing great!!! IM now thinking about the EGR system and trying to use a second waste gate to make it all work.
I need to make some more ground on the aero package and get it out of the way. Its just not my area of strength?

Do you have anyone that you can borrow a Hucho from? I somehow don't feel like you'll ever find it at the library... I haven't been able to.
You can test aero mods in a fish tank, by the way. You need a small bilge pump and a syringe with colored oil in it, and a scale model of your car. Small changes will not show up, but large shape alterations will be obvious. You turn the bilge pump on in front of the model, and inject the oil into the water stream where you feel you'd like to check. THe oil will separate soon after for recollection and recycling.

Hi,
I think that you need to go to a college or university and ask for an inter-library loan. My wife is a librarian at a Harvard library, and she got the Hucho book for me from MIT. Otherwise, you may need to spend the $100 and buy it from Amazon.

NeilBlanchard -
While the inter-library loan seems like a very plausible idea, I don't know as though I'd be able to get any assitance from my local University...
The $100 price tag is also quite unfortunate for me, because I have lots of things that I'd rather spend $100 on that might make me that money back, and then some. I guess, for now, I'll just have to be stuck in the "dark ages" of aerodynamics. I do, however, occasionally have access to college text books on fluid dynamics, which is where I learned the things I do know, in addition to seminars and lectures (most of which I was not invited to attend...)

My son and Daughter are both in College, so I'm going to ask them to see if they can get it at their Library after winter break.
Thanks for the tip!!!

Has anyone ever designed a gasoline lean-burn engine for generator? If you could get the sucker running at 30:1 AFR on a high compression engine, it could make for a very impressive series hybrid.

I had suggested this to my Father, actually. He's not an engineer type, so he told me to build it, and we'd try it out.
I have yet to get an engine that I can really do anything with, but we've got a genny head to run it on.
I'm thinking about how to really do this, which is part of the reason I'm interested in the design of Russ's engine. (The OP).
PS - How's that talk w/ the lawyer coming?

I think this is the direction engines will go in the near future. IMHO
The lawyer talk is in a holding pattern. ie I'm out of $$$$$$$$$$

Haha. Man, I wish you were closer, so I could just sneak a peek "without your knowledge" .
I guess I'll have to do some old-fashion research, eh?
Do you have any patents or writings that were particularly helpful in your design, but are considered part of public domain.
