While you may be able to turn over the engine( injectors off, trans in appropriet gear) to give a nudge for gliding, I would think( and I think this is what Frank is thinking), it would be more efficient to use as an engine assist to get up to your pulse speed quicker and using less fuel. Electric super-charger, sort-of.
Correct me as necessary.

This motor assist is set up for use during pulse, while red indicated electric motor assist would be nice for glide.

Yup, pretty much the opposite. I plan to use the motor as much as possible to replace the need for the engine to do the work, while still having the engine running since I can't EOC even a few feet without my center differential overheating.

Looking at batteries, I'm kinda leaning towards optima yellow tops:
They're lighter, I don't have to worry about off gassing like regular deep cycles, and I can easily get them locally. They don't seem to be as bothered by high amp draw as some other batteries as well.
On the downside, they seem to be about twice the price per AH. I'm leaning towards 6 of the Group 35 Yellow Tops right now. Which will put me at a 72v, 48ah pack. Nothing stellar on range, but I'm only wanting 10 miles anyway.

Welp, wiring is done. I could clean it up some more, but right now I'm moving on to the batteries, the only thing left before it should be spinning up.

From my research into using individual chargers for my 48V mower, some chargers can't be used in series. I'd contact the company and ask before buying.
