Getting a little scrap lumber with my leaf.

I put a doubled over canvas tarp over the back seat.
In the pictures that's wood in the back seat area stacked from the floor, taking up the back seat piled to about shoulder level.

Dragging home a piece of 4×4 square tube steel with 1/8 inch wall thickness. About 120lb and 13 feet long.
Going to be a small piece of my ground mount solar panel systems.

If my beetle breaks down in a major way, I will get a used leaf. I only drive about 32 miles round trip to the train, and if I did have to drive to work they have some new charging stations. It's about 55 miles to work.

For me it's about 18 miles to work.
If you can't charge at work or don't have a gasoline or diesel backup vehicle on a real cold day around 40 miles is about all the leaf is good for when running the heat.

I wonder how much the heat pump alleviates that issue.

hauling pallets is very expensive in air friction
if you have the time braking them down first could help with the watts

I'm not breaking them down before moving them.
It takes way too long, plus they stay on the trailer better as when nailed together as whole pallets.
Plus all the nice pallets I'm taking them 8 miles away and selling them for $3 each.

Most of the range hit is just from the car driving in the cold.

Would it help to throw a tarp on them and strap it down tightly?

Since I am still getting around the equivalent of 60mpg hauling pallets I'm not real worried.
A load of pallets buys power for the leaf for 2 to 3 months if I sell them or heats the house for 40 to 60 mild winter days.

You get 40 days heating on a load of 20 pallets? Dang and I thought 2 days to a bag of pellets was pretty good.
