To get around or over 100mpg what would people rather have?
An eilo with unlimited range, but it's tiny.
Or something like a nissan leaf at least it's a normal car with limited range.

A Leaf costs similarly per mile to a 55mpg car here, due to the ratio of cost between gas and electricity. Ultimately cost per mile should be what we measure, right?

Admittedly the EV will be more clean at any cost here, since electricity is from 100% renewables.

That looks like a better designed eilo and is electric which I think eilo not offering an electric helped seal their fate.

Our e-Golf is getting 6.1 miles/kWh aka 205MPGe and it has a range of about 190 miles this time of year.

That was their (first?) mistake, which they compounded by designing a proprietary engine.

I didn't mind the door, but ingress/egress looked to be worse than my Superbeetle, and I have to pry myself into and out of it.

Not offering a vehicle is what sealed their fate. Arcimoto looks great, but I want an enclosed cabin. We get picky about that in New Hampshire.

Investors seeking refunds from Phoenix-based automaker

The full article is here and without a paywall: https://www.abc15.com/news/let-joe-k...ased-automaker

Quote:
We asked Elio Motors -- with a decade of missed deadlines and nothing to show for their money, why not give it back to all investors who want it?

In an email, Elio did not answer that question.
They claimed they returned deposits when requested, but the point of the article was that people couldn't get their money back. Elio cited errors that they were allegedly trying to fix, but in the example they gave, the investor did not get his deposit back until the news channel helped him.
