At the time the VP said no traditional manual. Remember only 7% of the U.S. driving population can work a manual transmission. Pretty sure that engine was just a cast model. Yes it is supposed to be a redesigned Geo motor.

looks like a throttle body fuel injection instead of a fuel rail system. thought the fuel rail was more efficient?

throttle body or sequential FI?
I think I saw FI bosses on that head, by each runner of intake. I don't think that engine is a working engine, just a mockup.

Grrrrrrr.
The first sales will be to car buffs and motorcycle people. What percentage of those can drive a standard? My guess is far more than seven percent. And what percentage prefer a standards and might refuse to buy an automatic?
If you can EOC with a tiptronic then I might accept it. But I have my doubts that would work.
Grrrrrrrrrr.

That is a different looking intake tract. I hope that is not a carburetor - is it an air mass sensor?

No sure where I saw the 7% but I did see that of cars sold less than 7% are manual. Elio is not trying to sell to the 7% or nitch buyers but to the masses. Having only one tranny option will save money.

Yup. The big barrel should be the electric motor.
Those intake runners and that throttle body do seem awfully large... the Mirage's throttle is tiny, in comparison.
