Had a couple VIII's in the family. They handled well for being bigger. Though they aren't "full size" big. They're based on the Thunderbird of the same era, just like the VII before it. They WERE heavier than the VII. Around 3800lb curb if I remember. The base model had a 3.08 diff ratio and the LSC had a 3.27, and didn't have much problem hitting the speed limiter, 130 in the base and slightly lower in the LSC, due to driveshaft issues. You would think a $40k car (early 90's $ at that) wouldn't need speed limited due to such a thing...
30 mpg highway wasn't too difficult.
