Then probably it is the same after facelift, because the overall rear bumper structure is the same despite visual changes.

Auris II drag Cd is 0.26-0.28 (US version Scion iM / Corolla iM has 0.32 - the only difference is sporty/aggressive bumpers and side skirts).

New generation Auris III / Corolla iM / Corolla Hatchback drag Cd is 0.29-0.33.

Doing some tests in the past (hatchback car, VW Golf 7.5), I noticed that less dirt from the road (in rainy weather) reaches the rear window if I put some deflectors/separation traps there.

Separation traps are pretty much just extended separation edges right? Like a half inch box cavity versus being extended or smooth on the back?

I’ll probably extend all of my current Ioniq separation edges out by about an inch or two with some abs plastic and then 3m double sided tape them on so make a super short mini box cavity. Still trying to avoid doing a full boat tail until I can figure out an easy on and off version and that’s in the future as the very last kid I’d ever do

I'm looking for material to do a separation edge on the XFi. It woulld be maybe 4" wide and slip over the edge of the hatch, and pick up the contour of the main body. I have some sheet aluminmum but I think it's too thin.

Maybe thicker abs plastic?

Abs plastic is stiff if it’s only a few inches. Gets a more wobbly the longer you extend it or have more surface area.

I’ll probably do a mock up with some black poster board/foam board from dollar tree and black duct tape to see how it looks visually since looks also still matter with the aero.

I think on my car if the extended separation box cavity edges are done right, it could give it a bat mobile or blade runner type aggressive look in the rear of the angles are done right versus the current “ bubble butt” the Ioniq has

I have some, but don't know if I could roll the edge like I intend. If I did the sides but not the top there'd be enough.

Heat gun or worse case blower style hair dryer maybe $5 @ a salvation army type place. Only need to get a bit under 200 degrees for ABS to become soft enough to form. My abs greenhouse semi melted on a 100 degree day. I believe the thermometer said it hit 140f inside when it started sagging.

I've got some 2ft triangles of ABS and a Makita hair dryer. I just don't see putting a 180 degree bend along the edge successfullly.

The top of the hatch has something of a lip already.

Maybe three pieces joined somehow?
