Flat-pack cardboard and plywood car scoops Eco-Design award at Shell Eco-Marathon

Flat-pack cardboard and plywood car scoops Eco-Design award at Shell Eco-Marathon
Looks like plenty of aero and other shortcomings yet still, I LIKE IT!
Sure wish the U.S. was as active with Eco-Marathons as the Europeans- fun stuff. :/

I like some of the ideas in that car myself.
Yeah, bring back the Mobil Economy Run, but add a Modified class.

Ingenious method of construction... Must be pretty light-weight too!

It looks great construction-wise, but what's the advantage of a fuel cell?

It reminds me of when I was a kid who liked to build plastic model car kits; one day Pa got a bit agitated with yet another of my complete takeovers of the kitchen table with plastic parts and suggested I make my own models... Genius! I believe that event marked the last plastic "store-bought" kit I ever made; after that I made my own designs, first of cardboard, later wood, later yet clay. Anyway, this car reminds me of the way I put together the cardboard models.

Fits right in the garage tools set. A little coroplast, then it's EM gold.

But will it be all like Donald Duck's airplane when it starts raining?

Missed this thread when it first came out.
Super cool. Reminds me of this:
Different material and execution, but the same basic spirit...
