I have a HyperTech power programmer for my '07 Mustang. With the Premium Fuel power program and Premium fuel, there is a noticeable (seat-of-the-pants) difference in power and torque vs. the Regular Fuel power program. However, the Premium Fuel program and premium fuel net lower MPG due to the lower BTU/gallon content of Premium fuel. My experience. YMMV.

You just happen to fill your girl friends moms car with premiere fuel? I got a car you can do that.

Thank you for all the replpies
Mustang Dave, yeah unless you are running 10 to 1 compression or more it wont really show. The Insight has an 10.8 to 1 cr and it does help, but still its costs more than going with the cheap stuff. Still many of us do it anyway as it makes the 88 hp car way more drivable.

Direct Injection engines that specify 87 should benefit from 91. But most of them recommend 91 for best fuel economy and power.

Haha just an experiment. I do get gas from specific places in town though to make her happy. Seems a little silly but
A. my dad had to thaw out my gas tank dureing one of the big freezes this winter when I was away for college so either I got bad gas somewhere or it just condensed. and
B. she let me drive her car 250 miles both ways on a work trip instead of my junker s10 with a clogged fuel filter that causes it to die, and an exhaust leak that cooks your legs through the firewall.

So I really cant complain when she asks me to go to one station over the other.
Or when she says not to use the ebrake to slide around corners. For some reason she dosnt approve of that either.....

My father use to go to citigo (SP?) the 711 gas station exclusively. One day he purchased a tank full of water. He ended up filing a claim with his insurance to get it straight.

I have purchased gas from a lot of places and my honda seems to like bp best of all.

The only gas station I really avoid is the admiral in our town. Gas is about 5 cents cheaper but I have never heard a good story from them. Either bad mileage or running bad after getting it from there.
