On a side note I'd love to see a published steady state 65mph economy number for every car. So of a realistic level open highway economy. That would show both aerodynamics and overall drivetrain efficiency.
On another side note, I work for the postal service and because a parking ticket is a form local tax we get to park wherever we want without tickets because states can't tax federal property!

Hersbird, how is that going to help anything?!?!?! The only way to sell hybrids is to raise the bar that toyota set with the prius. Unless you can stretch the truth to make your mpg above that, you wont get sales. Thats where honda went wrong with their insight and many are getting better than prius mpg tank to tank.

Steady state mpg doesn't penalize heavy trucks either. Once the weight is up to speed it doesn't matter anymore. So say you live in rural Montana like me, you can get on the on ramp, set the cruise, and drive that speed until you run out of gas. After a few hours that 20 seconds you spent getting up to 65mph means little.
