Forum idea
Were all into minimising resource consumption, thus saving the planet, protecting the economy, reducing strategic reliance on foreign energy sources and materials, or simply get a kick out of the science of the whole thing.
That being the case, might I respectfully suggest a forum for Human Powered Transport - walking, cycling, recumbents, velomobiles etc all provide transport while working towards the aforementioned goals.
I know there's an alternative transport forum, but feel HPVs are so significantly fundamental to achieving our goals that they should have a warm, cosy home of their own on these hallowed pages.

Lots of members here have a strong interest in human powered transportation (myself included - most of my local kilometers are by bike).
But I'm not a big fan of subdividing existing subforums into ever smaller subforums. Forum activity is declining in general, and we'd end up with just the sound of crickets in many of them, which isn't a good look.
There are quite a few HPV threads already in Alternative Transportation . I'd like to keep it as is.

In what way are they alternative? They should be treated as mainstream if they're ever to become so.

They're alternative only in the sense that they're not the main focus of this forum.

I've always figured this whole forum was invisible to "mainstream" folks.

We need to get more people on Ecomodder...time for mandatory Ecomodder stickers for members!

Only one thing will do that: higher gas prices.

But will that attract genuine Ecomodders, or temporary Ecomodders? Real ecomodders are here for the long haul, regardless of gas prices
