A fuel efficient Hummer...?

This Suzuki seems to be all over the place in Japan nowadays.

It looks like a Hummer (from a distance with eyes squinted) but it isn't.

Behold the Suzuki Hustler.
The Hustler Is Real: Suzuki Built This Wonderhatch Of Pure Amazement

A kei car obviously, with a FE rating of almost 30 km/l (70 mpg)...
4x4? Check. CVT? Check. Offroad capabilities? Err...

Not only is it adorable, but you could get this thing with a fold-out tent! It's like an Aztek that doesn't make babies cry when they look at it!
Even the name is like 'Hummer' - just not.
Wonder what the owners manual looks like. Wonder what kind of customer they aim at.

Maybe Hummers in Europe look different than the US? Here are a few H2.

Extrapolate from H1 to H3, and continue to about H8, then it is spot on... right?
Course its not a Hummer.
I uses some of the styling, but being aimed at the japanese market it needs chrome round headlights, be cute and so on.

It is a boxy 4x4 and it gets very good FE. That's what makes it somewhat relevant.

I was smitten by the name, I might not have posted this if it was called something bland like Rocky or Adventure. Hustler isn't MOR to say the least.

But in china they copy all the popular US vehicles....or clone.

THey should make the car for the market, not just make something and hope someone buys it. In America it was a bit shocking for me to spend some time up Nawrth. I notice many places had plug ins for block heaters in parking lots. Cars came with block heaters and many models offered were AWD.

Down South you dont see or hear of block heaters and you have to special order AWD on a vehicle that offers it as an option.

I find my sidekick is much more controllable in 4wd even on dry pavement, but they caution against that in the book. Id want an awd vehicle, but to find one thats also an eco vehicle is next to none.

Granted some people use to import the hijet vehicles and get them registered for road use, those were few and far between.

I'd rather get a Suzuki Jimny for off-road ability, but this one does seem practical for overall use.
