Fun with Volvo's (anybody photoshop)

I have an old parts car that could be easily made a runner.
However it will give up some of its better parts for a nicer car I will be restoring. So after reading up on aero I thought about modding the Amazon.

I am game to lower the rear of the roof panel and narrow it. Side skirts would be o.k. but maybe something of a compramise. Like a 55 Bel air rear wheel wheel. Cutting and welding is just a good way to keep me off the streets
I'd want to keep the rear tailights as well as the feel of the front end.
(headlights) I could see extending the fron end to a bit of a point.
Closing up the grill some would be fine.
The rear doors do not need to be funcional or present.

The green one is the potential mod.
Anyone here wanna design it ?

What kind of engine is in your volvo?
IE Size, MT/AT, MPG, Power.
How much does it weigh?

Hey thanks wildfire ! Its all open to mods. As is it must weigh somewhere around 2800 lbs. has a B20 2000cc engine non crossflow head from what I've been told get around 25 mpg with a 4spd and 4.56 gears. Yes changes needed.
I could swap powerplants, there is a guy building a TDI powered one on
Oregon Volvo Tuners website.
I'd stick with the B20 or another newer tech gas engine. Toyota maybe ?
Try to stick with a 5 spd. lower (#) rear gear ratio.
I'm really more interested in cutting and welding body mods. I know its an uphill battle and thats o.k. with me.

We're not ignoring you, dude.

I've thought of the same idea with a mid-90s B-body station wagom.

Is your Volvo unibody or body-on-frame? The latter is far easier to modify.

Thanks Big Dave I was wondering ?,being a new guy with a big block as an avatar. I can be a smart (you know what) but I'm not a trouble maker. I am serious about better performance and that includes all my cars.

Its a unibody. I was reading about trucks and aero caps and was thinking why not a wagon modded?

The problem with a unibody is that you will have to jig the body before you cut or the durn thing will never come out straight.

Now...if you have a body jig, that's a different matter.

BTW, I like the big block, but right now I think the L92 is a hard engine to beat for all-around performance.
