I have been trying for 2 years, I missed one set by a day. The used parts stores say there are only occasional singles with out damage, most have hit curbs and they won't sell them.

they are not 15s. there 18X7s +45 with 225/55-18 they should be the 2005+ mustang diameter if not slightly larger. and prob much more efficient then 275s.
btw. if you dont mind me asking whats your budget? I can atleast help you source some 15s
Thanks for the offer, 18's are way to big for me. I live in New York state and I am afraid a chunk of missing road will break one without a thick sidewall.

I found a source for 15's Are you looking for car rims, custom wheels, performance tires, chrome wheels or black rims? WheelsNext.com is the solution! but their offsets are wrong. If you have another site I would appreciate it. My budget is $500 with shipping.

what are your stock tires? 205/75-15?

aside from websites. I think your best bet is ebay or somewhere you can get a deal with free shipping.

out by me the auto bone yards will tend to have full sets of wheels and tires at a decent price. and with local pickup your budget would stretch much farther.

even if a tire or 2 is bad. many tire places will sell you used tires in most cases 50-60% life left for like 30$ each.

craigslist can also be good but as with any deal just be careful

good luck and Il keep an eye out in my area.

besides I have a honda element it can easily fit a set or 2 of tires in the back

Thanks for your help. I have decided to stick with 15" wheels and using the stock 205 width tires. I still have to find a new brand of tire and I will be looking for LRR's if I can find proof they don't have less traction. I am searching for used wheels again since I can't find new ones that are correct or affordable.

As a general rule, the opposite is true. RR is inversely tied to traction. So careful selection is vital.

What was the previous brand & type of tyre ?

Traction of the better LRR tyres is acceptable / OK these days.
Of course, sporty tyres will always handle better - but at the cost of higher fuel use and less durability.

It's always a trade-off.
