and if you mess with the TPS signal in this application, transitional fueling is essentially disabled/significantly reduced. throttle transients(both positive and negative) cause fuel needs to change momentarily. using a capacitor or RC circuit to smooth out throttle transitions will cause the engine to momentarily run rich on throttle close and momentarily lean on throttle open. well, assuming you open/close the throttle enough to get into needing transitional fueling.

if this were an electronic throttle, then smoothing out that circuit would change only throttle resonse, rather than reponse and AFR.
