Don't let the auto tranny deter you - you can always do a manual swap.
As for 80 mpg, the answer is... (drumroll please) ... "it depends"! (TM)
Depends on what type of driving you're going to be doing with it, in what kind of environment.
You could get a
stock
HF over 80mpg with low-med speed pulse & glide - but your avg speed would be in the neighbourhood of 25-30 mph.
Getting 80 mpg @ a constant 60 mph (warm weather, level road) is also possible if you aeromod it to the extent basjoos did with the Aerocivic.

yeah thats the idea full body mods, fully covered wheels totally new nose and tail.. totally designed for MPG..

So the CRX i found is a stick.. sweet
, The owner claims a bit over 40mpg.. Either he never leaves the city or he's driving it wrong..
Ill go look at it this weekend.

It could need an o2 sensor or tuneup. 42mpg from an average driver in average conditions is still above average though.
