Happy with my first base tune.

I had a great day today.

My wife and I decided to go for a nice drive and get a base fuel-log.

I spent about 8 hours worth of tuning my city and freeway driving in the last month. So I decided its time to see where were at. (Neptune engine management)

After a 144mile trip with about 15 miles of it in town we got 44.5mpg.

This was with a temperature of 81*F and about a 85*F increase as the day went on.

I'm running a 15.5 A/F ratio at 65 mph. My next plan is to lean it out a little more to around 16.5. Plus I'm going to add a little more timing to help with the power.

How lean are you guys with Honda engines running at freeway speed?

Edit I forgot to mention that this was on 10%ethanol premium pump fuel.

Also this is a turbo-charge engine with a 8.5 compression ratio.

You're not gonna get those numbers without the honda's lean-burn tech though

I think any higher than 16.5:1 and you'll probably see reduced FE

I'm sure your right this is all new to me as far as saving fuel. When it comes to making power and using a ton of fuel... well I can do that really well.

My goal is to get 50mpg freeway. So hopefully I can get close? Thanks for the input!!! Heres a pic of the sol.

Yep. If I were you I would make a neat little kamm for the del sol out of plexiglass. That aero alone will help a bunch

Hmmm....

Would you take it all the way back to the end of the deck lid or just follow the side sail panels??

Probably all the way back as a full bubble, if the airflow would stay attached.

Taking off the mudflaps and putting on some smooth caps wouldn't hurt...

I'm going to get some card-board and start making a template for the Kamm back.

I will also be removing the mud flaps and try to find some of those 50' style hub caps.

Thanks again for all your guy's help.
