Anybody ever asks me if it's for sale, the answer is yes, as long as the price is right.

I've owned my VX for a year now and have had 3 offers to buy it (all of which I've obviously turned down), but never at home. Twice it was at car meets where people loved seeing a rust free, un"molested" Civic here in Ontario. The other time I was at the mall, and came out to see a Civic CX parked beside me and the guy was in the process of leaving a note with his number.

I've been told that "every car is for sale for the right price", but when I don't want to sell it they never seem to like the price I give .

I've had girls leave notes on my green wedge, but just saying it was a cute car, I've had people talk to me on the street about my civic VX and want to know if I'd sell it, told them that on Ebay they go for $5,000+ and that I'd sell it for that, last two were kids that wanted to race it.

I bought my 1983 Honda Civic by leaving a note on it and getting an Email a year later, ended up becoming friends with the guy who sold it to me.

my parents have bought at least one VW by leaving notes on them.

Not surprisingly, I have not had this happen. I have talked to lots of random people when I was driving the Insight, they wanted to know what it was etc, but that was it. I've had people track me down for stuff I have had in underground storage - that would have taken them some effort because I am not easy to find ha ha, but it was always old stuff, never anything eco-related. My Civic VX sits in the big "storage yard" right next to my old Dodge Grumann step van, and I get asked all the time about selling the van but never the VX!

As for the stalking of eco-cars, I admit I have stopped and looked at the odd VX parked on a side street now and then, and may have even knocked on a door or two asking about the car, but I have my hands full with all the rescues as it is. The only one I see on a regular basis that I don't want to miss is the Merc 240D with a 4 speed that a dealer owns and drives once in a while, I don't think he's ever washed it in the years he's owned it, but he knows when he wants to get rid of it to call me first.

I bet if they'd put that in the brochure they would have sold a lot more...

I get notes under the wipers all the time and have found people looking the car over anytime I stop at the store on my way home when I come back out to the parking lot.

I get the same story every time. Guys want it and have cash but when I tell them I need $5500 just to break even with all the maintenance I've done and I wont sell it for any less they usually walk away with their $1200. I do have someone that loves my car and keeps driving past my house and beeps the horn to say hi, always at nap time waking up both kids and pissing of my wife royally. I never even met the guy.

I have had people offer me money for my car in excess of what I paid for it, but that was because it came up that it sees 37 MPG. As it is, I won't sell unless I have another car lined up since this one is efficient enough that working an hour a week pays for gasoline (computer repair business ran under the table at $25 an hour, lets me keep schoolwork my priority.)

yes all the time now

I had several recently since adding the wheel disks, but as I told them the car is unsafe for all others. it isnt something I would place another person into and feel good about the exchange.
Too many mods that would need to be explained and also taught and then it was designed for 15-70 mph driving not 0-10 or 75-infinity.
Thus Im sure it wouldnt work out in my head.

3 or 4 offers to buy the aerocivic so far from people asking me about it after seeing it in a parking lot over the past 7 years. Some were interested in it for the mileage, others for the styling.
