Scientific American article about alternative energy company Better Place, which is planning to deploy electric cars in Israel, Australia, Denmark, and now, Hawaii.
Their plan is all electric cars, but the batteries will only be leased, and can be swapped at road side stations in a matter of minutes.
I read that second article before... its a very ambitious, novel and likely potentially successful way to run a car company. As well, it is an AWESOME way to penetrate deeply into segregated markets like Isreal and Hawaii.
