ok thanks Ecky, Ill probably get a truck cap that just matches the cab height so i can camp in it and take my dogs too, money wise the gear change might have to wait a little bit, but I will start researching it now. Also in the future would like to sell the Grand Marquis and get a prius or something which I can do more errands in and save gas that way too! Ill also have to wait on tires since I just bought these new and i think finding tall and skinny for the 15" rim is tough, seems like people have stock size or 31x10.5 which isnt very narrow nor light

My man you have been gone nearly eight years! I would assume the S10 is long gone.

That F150 is dinosaur but the good news is that since FoMoCo did essentially nothing in the way of making it economical - for you, that is - there's almost nowhere to go but up. And the truck itself, especially with that engine, is pretty much bulletproof so any changes you make have potential to deliver on a platform with a long future.

Hey elhigh, yeah I wish I'd stuck with ecomodding years ago, I had a few fun rides in between which would have been better for modding I think. I'm married now and have responsibilities so my truck is more for practibilities lol...(I need a prius)

Like you said, I believe the truck is a solid investment as it has low mileage and they are very reliable which should last me. As I get some debt paid down and actually put a bit of money into it to get it running right, then I will have a stable platform to experiment with better fuel economy. Once I can get rid of the wifes grand marquis and hopefully get a prius or something, I will start playing with that too...dreams dreams

...also, yes, the s10 is long gone, I had a mazda b2200 recently which was pretty good on gas, but it got crushed by a tree a couple months ago...not cool lol
