Hello from Germany

Hi,
I´m Thomas.
First, my english isn´t very good. Maybe, Google-Translate will help me.
I drive a 1996 Rover 214i, 1,4l with 75HP.

I am pleased to have found like-minded, the people here call me crazy.
It´s pity that ecomodding/hypermiling isn´t really known in Germany and i hope that the "TÜV" allows modification.

I´m pleased to learn new things.

"Bis dann"

Thomas

Welcome to the site Thomas.

Is this a correct image for your car? It looks like a nice little car.

Guten Tag, Thomas! Willkommen auf dem EcoModder.com
(See? I can use Google Translate, too OK, OK, I took some German in highschool, but that was so long ago that it might not be true anymore.)
Where in Germany do live?

The Rover 214 looks like a nice car from an ecomodder's point of view. I always liked the extra long roof extention on the rear hatch. It looks like a great starting point for a Kammback!

What are your fuel saving results so far? Please add your car to EM's Garage and start a fuel log.

BTW: I added your car to the CdA list.

ah, i live in the north of "Schleswig-Holstein".
My father told me that i´ll get problems with the "TÜV" ("Technical Monitoring Association") if i modify my car.

I´ll ask them how much i´m allowed to modify.

Hello Thomas, Welcome to ecomodder.
It's a shame that people in your country would call you crazy.
Do they call your government's efforts supporting solar energy production crazy too?
Well you've found the right bunch of crazy people here. I've found many excellent ideas here especially with aerodynamics.

Welcome smooth. I'm surprised that there are not more Eco-minded souls in Germany given the price of gasoline and diesel there.

I worked there briefly in Frankfurt. I remember driving a rental car on the autobaun and blew out the transmission.

What exactly does the "TÜV" ("Technical Monitoring Association") do? Do they have annual inspections?

better to mod then ask, if you ask they will say no. Look up the laws online if you can.
