Hi Everyone
The current gas crunch and a sudden bout of maturity have caused me to trade in my much beloved, fire-breathing Hemi for a fuel sipping Ford Focus. I love the new car and am eager to work towards better MPG. The first couple of months have netted me slightly less than EPA Combined Mileage but some lengthy conversations with a co-worker have set me on the path to driving smarter. I'm looking forward to participating on this site and learning from all of you.

Welcome to the neighborhood. You have a good platform for great mileage. What the commute like?

15 miles each way on moderately busy South Florida roads. Zero highway miles.

Great intro! I chuckled. Welcome to the site.
The fact that your Escort is a manual will help enormously in non-highway driving. Gives you many more options. Good choice.
I take it you've seen the 100+ ecodriving tips?

Welcome to EM!
Great purchase...
The folks across the street did the same thing and bought a new Focus. It's a good trend I'm starting to see around town.
Keep us posted on your progress.
Enjoy the site, and....
Best FE to ya

Yes, Good choice. I know that you meant Focus MetroMPG, but I must say that he bought a new focus, not an escort
