Honda Accord Factory Belly Pan/rear diffuser

FWIW
I thought it would be worth posting that there is a factory available partial belly pan and rear diffuser available for the Accord. It should definitely fit 05-07 and I believe that body configuration goes back to 03.

I have a 2007 Accord Hybrid and in addition to the extensive modification of the V-6 engine the engineers also added the above aero parts to the car.

The belly pans located between the front and rear axles in addition to smoothing both sides of the car also appears to lower that portion around 1.5 to 2 inches.

The rear diffuser seems to meet the requirements discussed here in Ecomodder and is also designed with strakes. Rear coverage could have been better on a car with less of a exhaust system (like the 4 cyl). Dual exhaust tubes with two large rear siliencers are part of the rear most underbody.

These parts were all done in a molded plastic of some type.

The Hybrid Accord was only produced from 05-07 and the numbers weren't great so the parts might be a bit tough to find used.

My vehicle also has a extensive pan under the front of the car. Don't know how that compares to the standard V-6 or 4 cyl on the Accord.

BTW that rear diffuser is probably the easiest way to spot a Accord Hybrid. You can see that long before reading the hybrid badge.

I don't drive it much but my car gets highway mileage in the 40's when the throttle actuator is properly programed so it would be interesting to have someone pop these parts on a 4 cyl or standard V-6 and see what they might contribute.

Cheers

Yeah, I've been trying to find info on these pieces and can't find anything. I have an 05 Accord and want to add a belly pan. Can you give us a few more details on the pieces. Front belly pan, how far does it go back, does it go under the oil pan. Rear diffuser, is it part of the rear bumper or an add on piece underneath. Are their rear tire spats on yours? Any other aero differences you've found compared to non-hybrid version, other than tires rear lip spoiler and stuff you mentioned.

Sorry to revive a VERY OLD thread, but i finally spotted an accord hybrid in my parking lot and took a picture of the rear diffuser. I have never seen a picture of this anywhere before, not even google. This is from a 06-07 hybrid, the diffuser is its own piece, it is not part of the bumper. The part looks like it will fit my 2006 V6 sedan. My car does not have an extensive front pan that the hybrid supposedly has, just a little skirt thingy after the front bumper. I did not get a look to see if this car had belly pans as there were other people around.

That "diffuser" is probably pretty much worthless, as it would channel air into the rear bumper parachute thingy.

Better to have a simple piece of Coroplast making a nice radiused curve from the rear axle area up to and flush with the lower edge of the rear bumper, with flow fences if desired.

Pretty sure a large corporation like Honda with easily millions of dollars in resources and R&D know-how is going to throw on a "worthless" aero part on its flagship hybrid car. Those kinds of things cost money. Car companies will skimp on pennies if they can. For something as significant as that part, I doubt it's useless.
