Honda insight intake temps affect lean burn?
Hello, I have been reading all morning on warm air intakes trying to find out if it has an effect on lean burn. In your experience does a warm air intake allow the car to be in lean burn more often?

I understand this well from all the reading i have been doing. I am curious if the warmer intake air has any affect on lean burn mode.

I'm pretty sure I have read that it helps with lean burn, but I don't have any sources. But I didn't mod my 2000 Insight (RIP) with WAI. (I did run a 100% grille block in the winter months though.)
Hopefully some of the other Insight owners will chime in.

OK, I take it nobody here has tried it.
Hate to drive people away, but have you checked on InsightCentral.net?

crickets chirping . . . .
Don't think it would necessarily affect lean burn, other than maybe getting up to temp a little quicker

My 2000 Insight doesn't mind air temperature, but I've read that other Honda's with LB may be. I've been in lean burn with intake temperatures as high as 70c, and as low as -15c, so long as the car is at least partly warmed up.
