It does have that. You can also plug in a flash drive and load it onto a computer with this Fiat software that will analyze your driving.

Talking Good point! ;-)

LOL! Geeze, I guess I don't need you people. :-) I need to get a flash drive and try it. I'm curious. It'll probably tell me I'm putting the car in neutral too much.

I saw a bright red, sassy Fiat today. I tried to wave but the GUY was too fast.

Atheria....vroom vroom!

I'm glad you said it, rather than me.

She says the instrumentation fluctuates too much and it stresses her.

What's the cure for that? Keeping one's eyes on the road, instead of compulsive fixation on the MPG gauge, maybe? But she drives in the Southwest, with very long stretches of open highway and little traffic. It's trance forming. Some drivers have fallen asleep at the wheel.

I've been there and understand it. (Including driving across the desert at night after driving all day before, and making sure I kept awake and lived to tell about it.) After too many hours of driving, when trying to fall asleep at night you still see the road coming at you. It pervades your dreams.

It's another world out there in the Southwest, where Atheria lives.

But she says the instrumentation on her new FIAT disturbs her.

Can we help her?

It's actually quite simple, I don't allow the instantaneous mpg numbers to show on the screen. No stress. Just beautiful New Mexico skies to look at. O:-)

Then how could you be disturbed by it, as you previously said?

It looks like you're playing us...

Well I tried it two times, briefly, before turning it off due to the stressful obsession.

N=3? That's too small a sample to know what the car's capable of. You need to start your fuel log. 65 mph on the highway is much too fast for best FE. 55-60 is nearly every car's sweet spot.

Fiats haven't been bad in a long time. I rented a Fiat Uno and drove it 1000 km around Israel in 1996. It ran flawlessly. I sat in the Cinquecento. It;s big enough to seat two of me (5' 7") in front and back seats, but put a longer-legged person in the front seat, and the rear seat passenger better be <5' tall.

What do you mean by sweet spot? Because the highest steady speed FE is almost always at the very bottom of the top gear. In case of my Yaris (which is a rather small car with a rather small engine and short gears, of course), it's like 30 mph, or even lower. You can't always go at 30, of course...
