How Many Gallons Per Week?

Everyone reports their fuel use in gallons per distance travelled, but what about gallons per unit time? I've been wondering, what really matters - miles per gallon or gallons per week?

Currently, I use about 3.555 g/wk.

I go with gallons a week/month/year. Usage is much more important then MPG. In my opinion.

Wow ! And I thought I was the only one !

I walk / bike to work. I also ride the bus.

Lately, I have only driven the car to keep from setting too long.

( BTW, How long can a full tank of gas set before it goes bad ? )

Why even own a car if that's the case? It is bad for car to sit unused for long periods of time. Plus your wasting money on insurance.

If you are only using a car a few times a year you would probably be better off just using rentals.

i'd say about 5~7 gallons a day. I drive to work 39 miles one way, been getting 16~18mpg, i fill up every 3 days. usually sundays i don't go far, maybe just around town. so... anywhere from 30 gallons to 40 gallons.30x$3.60=$108 a week

If you got a civic or something and cut that bill in half you could easily pay for the car in < 1 year.

yea but coming up with the initial cost is the problem. I'm trying to come out of debt from being unemployed for 2 months. Almost there though. I thought about buying a harley sportster, i don't think my credit will get me the loan though.
