Balto's advice is good: MPG instrumentation is key. (Though you will still have to calibrate your MPGuino).

MPGuino - housing; big screen?
I purchased the Guino from the vendor in Finland. My idea is to fabricate a housing for it that would sit below the HVAC controls on the console -- I have a shift boot housing/tray off a deluxe/later model "round" dash (the 5 door donor) and think I could build something to sit between them that would look reasonably factory (I'd probably tie it into the boot and then skin both with the same boat leather I used for the door panels -- more on the interior build soon). I asked him about the possibility of getting a larger LCD screen that could display all info at once, rather than having to toggle, but I didn't hear back from him. Any advice?
No worries if it necessitates buying a new model -- my Studeo needs one as well, so what I got won't go to waste.
And any advice on a home wheel alignment tool? That's the next thing I'll be searching the threads for...

What parts of Sacramento are you driving? some parts of sac can be deadly for mpg, then there are the rare times where you get lucky and can hit every light on watt ave green, but that's mostly late at night
What speeds are you going on the freeway?

I got hung up on Bradshaw and then US 50 till the interchange at rush hour! Ugh. I was at 1 light for 7-10 min and was doing 30-40 on the freeway.

Final drive ratio calculation
Hello Ecomodders,
So I read MetroMPG's thread on final drive ratios, wanting to confirm that I indeed have a 3.52 final drive tranny from the Suzuki. I duly lined up my timing mark, raised the RH wheel (LH on ground), chalked the wheel, set the car in 5th gear, and turned the crank one full 360. The RH wheel made approx . 75% (maybe 77%) turn. This doesn't correspond the potential results in MetroMPG's thread as I understand it -- what am I missing? Advice, please!
I am going to post in that thread as well. Thanks in advance for your input.

Dayum! we are driving the same areas, I live in Rosemont and drive on 50, 80, and all the major roads all the time! One thing I've learned is that when you're driving on watt is that if you drive 45 you're going to have a better chance of hitting a green light.

Terrific build! I'm envious of the Kammback... and hell, who cares if it's wavy in real life... it looks great in the pictures!

funny thing, i think, is i don't see metros on the road, just in the junk yard once in a blue moon. driving to a friends house in League City yesterday i saw one at someones house. wouldn't have paid it any attention if i had not read this great thread.
