The Insight II is selling for just over $20k. The Fit sells for ~$15k. No idea what the Fit hybrid would go for. Supposedly Honda has decreased the hybrid premium to less than $2k for the Insight, but I don't have anything to back that up.

Hi,
I seem to remember they talked about a cost of the hybrid drivetrain of ~$1,400 or $1,800. I like the interior features of the Fit a lot -- does anybody know the Cd (or CdA) of the current Fit?
I wonder who will be the first to sell a serial hybrid? Toyota may be the first to sell a plug-in hybrid...

One of my friends is getting one, and she said that it's almost impossible to get one for less than $25K, at least in LA. I think her only perk is leather seats.

I thought I saw some ads on craigslist around here for ~$23k. I guess that is more than 'just over'.

Hope you don't mind I moved this into "general efficiency discussion" from "fossil fuel free". The Fit hybrid (and all other hybrids currently on the market) still gets all its power from gasoline, remember.

I got some prices for the Insight II and Fit from the lot the other day...just kinda jotted down the prices of the first 2 I saw, though there was a nice new Fit for like $16k...they're weird with their pricing, so I went with the other stickers I was looking at on different ones, which were more medium, for them. The 09 Fit was $18780 and the new Insight was $21970. These aren't the best prices, or the worst...but hey, it's a car lot...lol
