Hypermiling 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Eco to 50+

Last time I broke 50 mpg was only a 200 mile tank and long trips mid summer. Average weather lately vs previous tank(75-80°) has been around 45° sevaral mornings with frost as well. Lots of driving without breaks. Stoplight timing and good ol coasting with a bit of EOC.
620.9 miles with 11.87 gallons of 89 mid grade ethanol free. Now to do it with 87 E10

Picture wouldn't attach to the first post for some reason. Had to downsize. 11.87 gallons bit of a cuttoff pic but oh well.

Finally trying out some 91 premium no ethanol. Car is loving it and hope the gas milage stays where it is. 15 mile drive home from the gas station with 1 stop at fleet farm I managed 71 mpg according to dic. Can definitely note the change in performance when it changes fuel maps. If you keep your foot out of it spark advance allows better mpgs. Hopefully will make up for 80¢ difference...11 mpg improvement to make up the difference. So far up 20

Just checked out your fuelly. Haven't seen too many 1.8s post high marks. Curious how much eco driving you do since if I keep my foot in mine it will stay around 40-42. I almost bought a 1.8 due to my lack of turbo knowledge.curious if I made the right decision...did your model have a 6 spd option? Was strange going from 5 to 6 spd for me.

Hey hey now don't call it the cheapo. It's the less fortunate Cruze. I look at it as 1.4 needs a turbo"Viagra" and the 1.8 doesn't lol

With my best hypermiling I got 47 mpg round trip, and it's slow (but I bet my engine will last longer). I think you made the right choice.

But yeah, it has a six speed.

New high running shell premium. 100 miles in so far at 62.1 mpg. I'm gunning for the top 10 now.
