I believe you're right about the HF models, I"m pretty sure they were US only, possibly Canadia too. (Yes, I know I spelled it incorrectly).

Dx/Std models were world-wide exports and builds, so that would be the next obvious choice.

Yep in the uk we didnt get a crx without a rear wing / wiper.

ChrisT, im trying to get the model that i have to be as economical as possible aswell as retaining / adding the sporty nature of it.

Ive removed them and filled them now, will update with pics in the next few days - as well as my low friction teflon respray ( haha just kidding )
Im also about to change the earlier post to include some piccies.

-Mark

edit : cant edit the first post for some reason.
Ill post up a piccie of my crx and a 16v crx for comparison.
( no side view yet, but exactly same as above )

and the 16v style spoiler ( sorry about tuner pic, its the only one i could find... even though it looks great in IMO )

I understand what you're doing, and wasn't aware that there wasn't a basic model in the UK. Thanks for filling me in.

That mid-spoiler thingy there, might actually help something by allowing the airflow to bypass that wiper... maybe. Speculation, obviously.

I love that little "16V" rear lip spoiler thingie... The 1st-gens had a small extension of the hatch/roof line there, and I always thought it looked neat. Maybe some day I'll put one on my car.

All three of my 1st gens have deck-mounted spoilers... the '84 had an '85DX raised spoiler on it, the '85DX had the same thing, and my '86 Si has the "off the rear" foam wing on it, which I'm going to mould in FG and replace, then sell the original.

Update :

Here is my car now

Not very aero friendly at the moment though !!!

Especially the wheels lol... not to mention it needs a super clean !!!
How about the aerodynamic paintjob? haha just kidding.

Im thinking full undertray , ive also got my antena block off plate ready to go on.
Im going to be fabricating a rad /grille block soon too.
In my opinion, i bet i could safely block 3 quarters of the rad!

( Mine has the full width rad, compared to later cars with the same engine, only had a half width rad. And i bet you could block half of that too.... )

Im thinking race mirrors , but i dont want someone to break them off/steal them

Also the car now has no interior, no radio... just a steeringwheel, dashboard and fibgreglass seats

It is also lowered around 30mm at the front and 20mm at the back

I just sold my HF but iirc it had a front lip that was about 1/2" deeper (taller) than the rest of the crx's. The passenger side mirror was absent (had a factory blockoff plate). No rear wiper. It did have a raised plastic spoiler on the back. Only half a radiator and gears 3,4,5 were overdrives. You could go 55 in 2nd gear if you really wanted to

As for yours. Looks nice! After sifting through a length thread on undertrays I gleaned that it's really going to depend on your particular vehicle if an undertray or lowering is going to work. In general terms undertrays(full belly pans) tend to work better on taller vehicles than on lowered ones...at least that's what the thread seemed to infer. It appears yours is already lowered.

Instead, you can easily do side skirts, make a bigger front air dam/lip, block the grill substantially (like you said you were gonna do), fill in the slits between the body panels (hood to headlight to grill etc), do a factory blockoff plate on the pass. mirror (if legal in the UK), LRR tires with mooncaps if you like, wheel skirts, wheel dams/spats too. You may be able to swap in a 5th gear out of an HF. I recall guys doing that on 1st gen crx SIs...don't know about 2nd gen though.

This is my little toy for the road, aswell as trying to get good mpg, i dont like to do any mod that hurts performance.

Its a b16a , so cant swap the gears. However im swapping in an integra type R box , which will give me even worse ratios, but aid acceleration...

I have got a slightly lower front lip to go on .

I didn't realise you could get mirror block off plates... Might try one.
