the XFi version is different in the following ways:
-XFi Transmission has a 3.79 final drive ratio vs 4.39. so less RPM's for same speed
-XFi camshaft is different. I'm not sure on the specs, but I believe it's advanced some and the lift duration is different.
-XFi ECU is different.
-XFi Pistons have 2 piston rings instead of 3
-XFi has a lighter curbweight, but I'm not quite sure where they shed the weight.
-the rear quarter windows lack the black molding underneath the window while other Geo's have it. that was my first indication that this was an XFi
Everyone has been asking the same question for a long time? why do they no longer make these? I believe it's mainly due to safety regulations. These are tin cans and I hope I don't die driving mine.
It was originally rated for 58 MPG highway, but with the new standards, the EPA lowered the rating to 52 MPG highway.
