Have you ever tried hitch hiking? No not that kind, put a tow bar on the front of your car. On long trips you could hitch hike behind RVs. Of course you would have to put up with old folks doing their own version of hypermiling, but you would have a place to sleep!

When not in use it could be dressed up as a crazy airdam pointing down the highway. Probably getting some wicked mileage.

But the drawback would be you might end up traveling between RV parks, and putting up with geritol and metamucil rage.

Okay, looking back maybe not a good idea.

How about a trunk mounted boat tail bike rack?

I pulled up behind a car yesterday and saw they had a bike rack on their trunk and thought "what waste there was no boat tail attached to it" no bike either for that matter.

It's light weight and removable. Maybe a great test platform.

Dangit, someone nabbed my idea. I was mulling this recently as a way to add a temp tail on my Cherokee. Here was my thoughts so far though: get some clear polyvinyl cloth and stretch it over the bike rack frame. Get some metal tabs and bend them into shape so you could hook the whole drape into the space between the trunk and body frame. If anyone thinks this might work I'd love to see them try it.
