Re: Permalink #1031, you must have a premium account with Veloce Today. I went 27 pages deep in Google Images on 'Giovanni Savonuzzi' without finding anything more on the car. So I tried the name painted on the side—Nibbio 2. Success!
He was quite the guy. Classic and Sports Car Magazine via http://www.scottgrundfor.com/classic-car-resource-center/classic-mercedes-benz-articles/1955-ghia-streamline-x-gilda/ on the Ghia's 1955 Streamline X 'Gilda'.
Quote:
During its recent renovation, owner Scott Grundfor found an Italian poem scratched into the black paint of the inner body. Not seen since the Gilda's construction in 1955, the lovelorn prose referred to an intoxicating meeting and the bitter taste of separation. Could this have been Savonuzzi's paean to the Brooklyn-born movie goddess?

I also found an article on Danti Giacosa. He did this one, the Fiat 508cmm .

Yup.
vBulletin inconsistently appends rather than over-writing the 'http://', as 'http://http://www.scottgrundfor.com/' and I failed to edited the link. I'll let it stand so your response still makes sense.
Giacosa did the Fiat 500, 600 and 128.

My dad said that if guys could figure out a way to attach a motor to their a$$, they would. Looks like the guy in the second pic came close.
The last one looks like the most awesome riding mower EVER!
