This looks like some sort of "gravity racer" for going down hill ( could be wrong).

I like the suspension layout, looks somewhat aerodynamic for an open wheeled vehicle.
I suspect those are the drivers knees ( or feet) we see, looking though one's knees has got to limit other vision requirements.

Bochum solar car
Here is the Bochum University solar racer. The lowest streamline filament indicates separated flow above the roofline. It could just be diluted in the boundary layer mixing.Don't know.It satisfies Buchheim et al.'s countour criteria,so it's 'in bounds.'
Here's a AST-II comparo

Re:#2056
Looks like almost a dead match(edit: with some coke bottling)
I found this video of it.
https://youtu.be/wWNjRYOHZts
Pay attention to :40-1:15sec . Active wheels/ covers and smoke to show how much it really helps. Looks to be computer controlled , notice the stepy action .
My gess is the different %of open is eather a function of brake temp. or speed with a multitude of trigger points .
The action reminds mee of a CVT belt on a 10 hp Tecumseh , not linear.

Overly complicated. Should have smooth rims or hubcaps. Front corners of the car should not have to morph. Boat tail should be incorporated into the general design of the body and need not be deployed. The active grill block however, looks good and does what it's designed for.
I know they are just showing their engineering skills and they're good. Really, really good.
0.19 good...
Just overly complicated.
In my opinion...
