It's very likely that the car would not turn. If un-gimbaled, it would turn, but then it would fall over. Visa-versa.
My dad watched test pilot after test pilot go to their death as a consequence of their aircraft's propeller acting like a gyroscope during turns. The plane would go one direction while the propeller went the other. Too close to the ground to bail out. Hartzell 'shrapnel' for the plane to negotiate.
