Here's something that got me... I had no idea this ever even existed: The Pontiac Grand Prix Aerocoupe 2+2:

But from the rear, aero! Sort of.


And look at that useless trunk opening because of it!

NeilBlanchard — Better looking than Tesla? I think not, but it is interesting. A converging duct in the hood and a diverging duct in the Kammback.

No, its got to be GM.

No doubt the glass has a GM part number but It's not the Camaro part. The rear edge has a pronounced curve to it. Not flat like the Camaro. The differences to the Barracuda are in the C-pillar.

I was at the "Eyes on Design" auto show on Sunday, they had two themes going, the main one was concept car next to production car. The lesser theme exercised seemed to be the "all show no go" era of highly graphic sticker cars from 1974-1977. For instance the Mustang 2 "Cobra", the AMC Spirit based AMC, some Duster/Demon models, Trans Am's and so forth.

My point being, some very aerodynamic if not want-a-be aerodynamic concepts, and cars with chin spoilers and rear deck spoilers that have been known to occasionally help or hurt aerodynamics and Cd numbers.

I will post a few pictures when I have more time.

While the Portofino was a one of a kind concept and Chrysler ownership of Lamborghini would not survive, the concept's design would inform and influence Chrysler cars for the next two decades. The wide low stance and open plan interior would become the hallmark of the Chrysler LH body vehicles and their "cab-forward" design standard. The triangular headlights and dual notched rear indicators would find their way directly to the first generation Dodge Intrepid and serve as key design points throughout that vehicle's existence..............

The Portofino was notable for being an early example of cab forward styling, and many aspects of its design made it into the Chrysler LH platform which initially included the Chrysler Concorde, Dodge Intrepid and Eagle Vision.
