The winning part is watching them scatter like roaches when a light comes on. Then I stop and find something else to do until I notice they are back; then I commence mowing again.

Isn't this the new acoustic cannon the D.O.D.has been testing at Aberdeen? Instead of dropping jellied hydrocarbons onto people, they just turn people into jelly!

Other than the silly exhaust, I must say that is a gorgeous Beatle! Lots of nice touches to it

aerohead -- It's been a while since we find ourselves in the same thread. Have you looked at the Messerschmitt thread?
b23 -- Venetian blinds? OK. Air scoops? An Herrod Helper would be more effective. Chrome wheels? almost stock. Pop-out windows? Want.
I'm glad I wound up with Shantung Gold instead of chrome yellow. And the white detailing on the chrome wheels is Plasti-Dip.

Possibly the least radical thing he ever did but that explains those rear fender air scoops. Apparently Porsche added the lower front scoops at the last minute, which explains the mismatch. That makes it an "interesting aerodynamic car".

I'll have to dig back into "Excellence Was Expected" to see if Ludwigsen mentions Colani at all.

It looked like the image below, more odd like his style.

At Edward's AFB,my roommate's girlfriend's older sister's boyfriend had one.It was in running condition, and the couple would 'take-off' in it.I never rode in it.I did get to sit inside one in Tokyo in 1998 out 'Trash Island'.
In the 1950s,if you bought a Cadillac the dealer gave you a Messerschmitt gratis.
Fun little grocery-getter!
