Two updates tonight:
Little one - prevented empty comments. Will improve this function a little bit to save the other have if you forget one of the fields. I had it working for a bit but it was buggy so I left it as is.
Big one - I have integrated all the EPA mileage/vehicle info databases from 1985-2009 into the site, so now you can search and select your vehicle from that data and have it auto-input some of the critical stuff. To do so, use the select template link here: GreenCarAlbum Add Garage - GreenCarAlbum
Furthermore, this feature will go a long way into making sure vehicles in the database are searchable, using consistent information, etc. I hope to use it both on GCA and EM for validating EPA numbers as well as the basis for building a larger database including CD and things like that.

Awesome, thanks!
The frontal area field doesn't show up in any of the cars in the garage, just so you know.

Did you fill it out? I set it so that only the fields that were filled out would be displayed. I know I havent filled out mine.

Yea, every time I fill it in, when I hit update, it just comes back with the field empty again.

Also, I'm getting the same error when trying to upload pictures:
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/greencaralbum/public_html/addphotoalbum.php on line 86
First, it was with 5 pictures that were like 2MB each, then with 3 that were about 650kb each, then with one that was 385kb.
I just tested a 17kb image, and it worked fine, so the file size is definitely the issue.

I thought I put a warning on the page about file size? I suppose I could take larger files and trim them down locally on the server. This is actually a manyfold issue. Server storage space, bandwidth costs, and page load times are all factors that compete against the loveliness of users being able to upload basically whatever they like.
I will try to work on a solution to the photos soon, since the site is supposed to be driven in large part by images (albums!).
Solving the other problem should be a bit easier. I will check into it now. Thanks for the help sorting out these issues.

Dunno if this was mentioned yet, but the 'ecomods' field needs to be a lot larger.
You should also allow for multiple types of instrumentation.

If it's easier/cheaper to just show images from Photobucket or something, then you could think about doing that, or maybe just adding a field for external links.

Photobucket is an option, but I dont want to look like I am running a two-bit operation. I will consult with our server guy about storage implications (the server crashes if we run out of room) and pending that probably up the limit to 2megs and resize the photos locally depending on where they are being displayed.
Also, I fixed the frontal area issues on my local machine and will upload the fixes soon.

Good idea, sir. Hopefully I can make it multi-selectable without fudging too much of the formatting.
