I wanted to get Bosch platinums but my friend at the Parts Source refused to sell them to me, he said the NGK v-grove is the one Jeep calls for. I said I didn't care, he said it's fine but he will not sell me the ones I wanted. I bought the NGK v-groves.
Grounds are where the negative battery cables touch the body and the engine. dirty connections can throw the electrical sysem out of whack. my volt meter flactuated a lot while driving for no reason that I could discern and the odd time it cranked slow as if the battery was dead, I took both terminals off (really corroded) and cleaned them. THere are a few more i want to check but it's too cold and raining, my meter still flactuates down to 14.1 instead of a steady reading
A good quality digital meter (I prefer fluke) set to a low volt scale might help you find trouble spots while it is running, but I check with the vehicle off on the ground setting. anything over .1 ohms is looked at. not all that pass are perfect, especially large wires like the main terminals. There is probably a common electrical problem on the web, might offer more info
The most over looked electrical issue is the coolant, stick a meter into the antifreeze and the other to body ground. once the antifreeze starts going acidy it will get a voltage reading, I once saw a 2.5 V charge in the coolant system, it will mess up all your sensor because your engine that is supposed to be grounded is not a battery generating it's own electricity
actually, I have to check that on mine still
