My mini quiz: 2 part; Name the American car that has it's fuel filler tube in it's left front fender, and what was it's last yr of production?

What American car has it's fuel filler tube not on any fender, quarter panel, under hood or boot, not in trunk. not centered in the middle of the back, or behind the license plate, not high behind rear window, or on top of area usually considered a trunk, even on a car w no trunk?

What is the 1st and the last yr. the above car was made?
And my guesses...

Second one - Checker Marathon ? Its off centre in the back panel.

Hey,

Whoah........I won?

Good Lord, we are going to have to streamline the rules.

Let me think..............

Alright, here's a good one.

We are aware of the TDI powered Audis that have won LeMans.

Name the car and the engine manufacturer that put the FIRST turbodiesel race car together for high level competition. Bonus for the year and racetrack that it debuted.

Here's a hint: You could say that it can hum a tune while working.

Well; since Arragonis has the floor; I think it might be polite to answer him

The '69 Corvair is the correct answer.

For the 2nd question, I did not have either a Jeep, or the Checker in mind.

I admit to not following Jeep's very closely, but I'm guessing that in most yrs, the filler is just aft of the driver's door cutout, which kind of makes me put it in the quarterpanel playing field.

Great call on the Checker position being offset; but that's not the car!

The car is from a MAJOR American automaker!!
