And did you know you're Leaf would go up nearly 50% in value the time you bought it? Trying to predict the future here aren't we, and it's not as easy as "I know everything." In 10 years we could all be buying Chinese brand cars and everyone else could be struggling to still exsist for all we know.

Hopefully a CCS charging port.

I don't buy that. The main loss of energy on nearly any car is aerodynamic drag. Car manufacturers put looks ahead of aero because they know the masses of people don't have a clue and don't care. And designing and aerodynamic car isn't expensive with the tools and technology we have now.

I figured stupid democrats would get in charge again and drive the gas price to over $3 a gallon and if I didn't like my leaf I could get what I paid for it in 2 or 3 years.

If you want a css so bad there's a bunch of css vehicles for sale right now.

Talking about the electronics as far as aerodynamic efficiency most people don't want to buy something that looks like a lightyear or Aptera. When stopped and everything else off electric cars draw several hundred watts just to keep the inverter powered up. At highway speed the inverter losses are negligible. Inverters that draw almost no power at idle have been around for nearly 20 years, just not on cars.

So the solution is politics so we can make gasoline more viable and keep solar panels off cars? Ok, got it! Thanks! I don't get involved in politics so maybe I need to find another forum.

Inverters that draw almost no power at idle sounds like a good idea to me too.

I don't dare get involved in politics, so I stick with this one. The Post Office was closed to celebrate Junteenth, so I went to Subway and the counter-person said he didn't even know what Junteenth is. I qualified that he indeed wanted to go down the rabbit hole and mentioned Emancipation Day and the two states that got free labor for a year after the 14th Amendment passed.

I paid and turned around an right behind me was a 6' 4" policeman. He gave me a cool, appraising stare.

When it comes down to it I'll choose the 30mpg Beetle over the 45mpg XFi. Last weekend was 45.09mpg.

I love juneteenth. A new federal holiday and a perfect example of why no one should rely on government for time sensitive need to know information.

Yeah. My energy policy would be cheaper gas, more pipelines, more refineries, more solar panels on the roof tops of homes, preferably not on cars but if it work it works, more wind turbines, more natural gas more coal, more nuclear power, more nuclear families, more lithium extraction, more cobalt mines, less to no new lithium grid batteries more electric cars, more hybrid cars.
I'm one of the rare people own an electric car and isn't a total shrill. I can admit that they aren't for everyone and we are a long way from even 10% of new vehicles being electric.
Unless the United States is going to go invade some country and take their lithium.

How do you feel about Emancipation Day?

My energy policy would be no tiny houses, just large geodesic domes with all the heating and cooling embedded in the window glass. Ventilation at the zenith.

The last five minutes of Scott Adams podcast today he talked about new towns built around the electric bicycle with lanes with hills and valleys to make travel interesting. I was reminded of Alton Baker Park.

Emancipation day = gaslighting day.
Domes are cool. But like a highly aerodynamic car, it would be an uphill sell. I would live in a dome but I'm not even going to try to convince my wife to.

So your saying they're the same? The difference I see is one is the one is International and celebrated on a state-by-state basis in this country, while the other is a Federal form of reparations.

I'm not trying to convince you, just saying that in my experience the dome was the warmest, quietest and cleanest place I've ever lived. It turns out that dust settles in corners and domes don't have them.

I wonder how my Chinese robot vacuum would handle cleaning a domed house?

The pizza sliced rooms and curved walls might confuse the algorithm. Makes me want to mock something up just to answer that question.
