Liquid cooled/warmed oil filter mount?

I saw a post on a Miata site of someone puting this mount off an Alfa 164 on his Miata. It has engine coolant running through the oil filter mount. Anyone use this mod?

A lot of the high mileage spec cars do like the Civic VX, HX, and the Honda Insight. It doesn't seem to be a popular add on item though.

The oil heat exchanger was removed for later years of the Insight. I haven't read much on it doing much of anything. I suppose it should help the oil to heat up more quickly?

You could possibly use something like this from a Subaru Forester and can be had quite cheaply from a junk yard. As long as the thread pitch and size is the same size, it should work for a number of applications.

It simply screws in place between the oil filter and the block.
