Overall, I am quite pleased with them. Looking forward to a slightly better aerodynamics efficiency up front.

Please let us know how it all shook out.I have to believe that you'll see a difference. All the supporting evidence points in that direction.

Wow! That looks so good it's got to have a Toyota part number stamped on the back. Outstanding work.

Well, I guess this concludes the aerodynamic mods I had planned. I will try to come up with an A-B-A testing eventually.

And it shows a love of the car to have done it this way. I wonder if any of the manufacturers' engineers and stylists ever see these mods, and I wonder what they think. You have given yourself a subtle and unique design.

Averaged 58.7 MPG over 50 miles on Monday. Average speed was 45 MPH. No P&G involved, just DWB, DWL and steady throttle position.
I noticed that the cooling is somewhat efficient at lower speeds (lower than 30 MPH); temp was stable at 186F. At highway speeds (50-55 MPH) cooling is sufficient, but it sits a little bit higher at 190F. It's probably due to the angle of the opening of the lower grille.
The grille blocks are now held in place with a double-sided industrial strength tape. Figured I needed some extra peace of mind. I would never forgive myself if I had lost them on the road, not to mention the hazard to the other drivers.

That looks extremely nice! The amount of time you spent on it shows as a very fine finished product.
Harbor Freight has a radiator comb for 5 bucks. With straighter fins, it should help the radiator be more efficient.

Looks good I'm glad that you sloped the corners of the lower grill because I was wanting to suggest that as I looked over the build.

@ Tango Charlie
Thanks for that link. I will definitely check it out.
@ Phantom
Yeah, I figured that airflow should be better with it. Still trying to tweak cooling for highway cruising (above 50 mph). I need to make a duct to redirect most of the incoming air to the radiator.

Ducting will save the day. Mine is pipe insulation, cardboard, and duct tape (someday I'll make version 2.1 with coroplast or something less vulnerable to water).

Good Job and how come you do not add a lip to reduce more of the air under the car?
