Lurker, now member, with a eye catching approach to good MPGs!
Hello Fellow gas nibblers!
I have been lurking on here for quite a while stealing tidbits of information when I need them. I finally decided it was time to become official and introduce myself. I have had, and still have, a long grocery list of cars from 1gen insight's to a BMW's with toyota engine swaps. I love just about anything with wheels and wrench on everything myself. Learning and experiencing new things in the automotive world is my favorite cup of tea.
Currently I have a 03 HCH with a manual transmission that I daily drive and that has pushed me to finally join the Ecomodder community. I hope to share great insights (pun intended) with all of you while learning from each other!

Welcome, you're in the right place!
After a couple of years of being a member here and progressing from a Land Rover to a Festiva to a couple of Insights to a Volt, I've finally ditched gas altogether. Never would have happened if I hadn't stumbled across this site

That's quite an unusual HCH you have.

Yes... I like the HCH... Looks nice and I bet you can squeeze fairly good mpg's out of it.

Completely stock I was getting 60-70mpg at ~50mph in ours during good weather, but I don't really drive it. It's a lot heavier than the Insight and suffers more in city driving.

Very true. The highest I have achieved was 72 for a complete tank but that was pure highway at 60mph. I really need to build some wheel covers and install my mirror deletes.

Awesome! I enjoy my other projects way to much to ditch gas completely, but it would be awesome to have a gas-less daily!

Nice car. Makes me wanna clean my Civic! What level fuel economy are you achieving? The car is a great platform for really high numbers with ease.

I will rebuild Black and Green over decades as parts die, until it becomes a different car of roughly the same shape and color. My minimum fuel economy goal is 55 mpg while averaging posted speed limits. I generally top 60 mpg. See also my Honda manual transmission specs thread.

Welcome to the site fellow Wisconsonite!
I would suggest starting a garage entry / fuel log here so people can see your progress.

I'm actually a Nebraskan, but hey, we're all brothers and sisters! I was planning on starting a fuel log from a fresh fill-up. I installed the mpguino mid-tank. Takes so long for results since maybe 1 visit to the gas station once a month...
