Is that a perforation where the discoloration is?
I've got one on Spirit, and the muffler shop who did the new cat-converter said he'd just wait 'n see how it evolved.
ACE Hardware has a wood stove cement, designed for high-temp operation, which some have doctored catalytic converters with successfully. Check it out if you're near a store.

In a decade, they'll be saying ' Gee, that IONIQ we saw ten years ago was spot-on!'

Has anyone done solid tested on front wheel arch gap fillers? I want to reduce drag on the front tires, but I don’t want permanent wheel gap fillers since in the winter I need snow and slush to escape the wheel well when driving

What’s the mpg impact on closing the gap? It must be measurable if Hyundai keep bragging about their “ partial wheel arch gap filler” on their Ioniq 6 car as an aero achievement lol

I have only one research finding on this topic, from an online source, and it's at home.
I'm carrying a thousand pages of resource material with me to the library, and it never seems to be enough for all the 'topics' which can come up on any given day.
It'll be next Monday before I get back.

Only question I have: driving on a typical highway, how do you keep from rubbing the tire with the gap filler. After a while it's going to be almost the size of the original wheel well opening.

The final dimensions are chosen when wheel-flop, lock-to-lock, with full vertical suspension travel fail to make contact.
Ablative urethane foam will 'lap itself in ', taking on a 'zero-scrub' clearance.

What about the horizontal sides of the wheel well and not the vertical part?

Also I have the 15 inch wheels on my Ioniq. Most of the models come with 17 inch wheels but have worse FE.
